Hi guys I saw a similar post to this but no resolution

I just bought a brand new Asus G2S and every time i try to install
software i get this error.

here is a copy of one of them

STOP 0X0000007F(0X00000008,80157000,00000000,00000000)

So from what i know... 7F is a Kernel stop and 08 is a Double Exception
and i have no idea what the rest is...

I’ve tested the memory no Errors
I’ve tested the Hard Disks no Errors

So.... I’m really at a loss here is it something i can fix or am i
going to need to RMA the notebook? <that would suck>

P.S. I’ve worked in IT for 4 years and i am also a Software Engineer so
technical responses are OK/Wanted

for System Specs...
THIS IS NOT AN ADVERTISMENT IM SORRY IF THIS IS AGAINST FORUM RULES I
WILL REMOVE IT!

All software?
Or just some such as games?

This page is for Windows XP, but it may apply:
http://aumha.org/a/stop.htm

Power off, open case and reseat all connections, particularly video
card.

Was the memory tested for at least 2 hours?
Try installing a program with one stick of memory, then try with the
other in a different slot.

Make sure you have the latest drivers.

Since the computer is new, a Clean Install will rule out a bad Windows
installation.

The amount of time you spend is entirely up to you, but at some point
it may be necessary to send it back since a hardware issue may be the
cause.

I cant help you specifically, but see this article:

http://www.edbott.com/weblog/?p=1789

he does indicate that it would be hardware related though

Hope this helps

every driver is up to date including the bios
all winsows updates installed.

i find it strange i havnt had a single issue now that ive been in safe
mode... so that should rule out the ram no? and the MB? but that screams
GCARD! or SCARD! at me hehe ill take a look. but who knows i will also
try a clean install after i get back home.

i think i might of narroed it down even furthur it appears it "Might"
have something to do with administrator rights or when im doing
something under administrator.... if i try to run an application with
add min rights it insta crashes also when i install i get the crash
<install usually uses admin rights at some point> so im realllly
thinking im narrowing in on this

well if it is a hardware issue imma go cry in a corner since ill have
to RMA this baby..
