I've installed Windows Live Messenger 8.5 beta on XP and Vista and they both
exhibit this bug.
When I click Contacts > View Contacts by > First and last name, some of my
contacts have their actual first/last names. Some don't. Some just have their
display name. In WLM 8.1, I could easily edit each contact and fill in their
correct names. In this WLM 8.5 beta, it appears to accept my changes, but
immediately reverts them after half a second. The settings are changed: I
tried logging into my laptop with WLM 8.1 and the changes are visible.
