Yeah, it would be nice to know of the bug fixes. Hopefully, this data
will be released soon since everyone is doing Microsoft a service by
testing Windows Vista for them. Microsoft on its part has finally
lightened up and seen the light that it is critical for them to seek
user input. Now if only Microsoft sees the light about a true successor
for 98SE that will be a Classic edition for older computers that cannot
even run Windows XP let alone a basic Vista install. Windows 98 is in
third place after XP and 2000 according to this informative article.

The 9X line is long time dead and no work will be done on it. End of story.

Win 98 is also no longer a supported OS. It is gone as of July 11, along
with Win ME. No more patches, updates, or fixes to it or any of the bundled
software like WMP or IE for 98. If you are still using 98, disconnect the
machine from the internet entirely.

Nope, 98SE stays on the Internet. I have a NAT router as well as Zone
Alarm Professional firewall. Also, check out how insecure XP really is
after all.
