BUG in Nero or Vista: DIVX thumbnails are only visible in recycle

Nero 7.10.1.0 comes with a codec called NeroDecoder in order to play
DIVX/MPEG2 movies with WMP11 or any other player,
but due a bug in Nero or in Vista, all DIVX thumbnails are NOT created, NOT
visible in the folders. But if you delete some DIVX movies (AVI file) and you
open the Recycle Bin, the thumbnails are visible in Recycle Bin.
Why on normal folders the thumbnails for DIVX movies are not created? Why
they only appear in Recycle Bin?

I also noticed this:
if I restore the files form Recycle Bin to original folders, I see the
thumbnails created by Recycle Bin.

The problem is Nero 7.10, which gave me endless problems. Uninstall it
an go back to 7.9, or up to the new Nero 8, which dispenses with a lot
of the classic Nero Eye Candy in favour of a more streamlined UI.

As far as the thumbnails are concerned, check your codecs. 'Vista Codec
Package Homepage' (http://shark007.testbox.dk/) has a very good pack
available, with different downloads for the 32-Bit or 64-Bit versions of
Windows.

Do you have the latest updates?

Have you asked Nero, or other Nero 7 users?

You have to live with that or get the newer version 8.

latest Nero7 build avaible.

yes, I submitted the bug to Nero some months ago, but the bug remain
unpatched. No answer from Nero.

Remove the updates as dzomlija suggests and see if it improves.
Or simply wait for Nero, assuming they fix an issue on an older
product, which I consider unlikely, but possible.
