[bug] WLM can't be restarted

Hello!
My config is in the signature.

I'm a new WLM user. I've always been using WM 'till the other day.
I like WLM but I've suddenly found a bug: randomly, or to be exact
after some time WLM is working, when I exit, the icon will still stay in
the traybar. If I exit clicking on the traybar icon then I won't be able
to restart it and reports an error saying that probably its files are
locked by another program...
If I open Task Manager I see actually wlmail.exe is still in the list
(!!), so that's why files are locked. It's not an AV problem as it
suggests...
If I kill the wlmail.exe task then I can restart it without problems.

I don't use other Windows Live products, not even Messsenger.

This is a bug (when quitting) that definitely needs a fix.

Thanks a lot
I did uncheck that option indeed (don't want it to waste bandwitdth an
sometimes I connect with my UMTS mobile with only 50MB a day)
Very competente reply, thank you again
Why don't they fix this "known bug" then? Will do in next version

Ciao

The response indicates the presence of an entirely different "bug" -
this time with the operation of this newsgroup.

I normally use Outlook Express to view (and contribute) to newsgroups -
and I access newsgroups via the servers at news.datemas.de and
nntp.motzarella.org.

Both servers reveal two previous messages in this thread - the original
post from hexaae and the subsequent "thank you" from hexaae. However,
the "very competent reply" is missing from both news servers.

A visit to the web-based version at
http://www.microsoft.com/communities.../default.aspx? does
show three previous posts, including the "very competent reply" from
Peter.R. A further comparison between the web-based version of this
newsgroup and the news server indicates that many posts are not
available via nntp servers.

Does anyone have an explanation for this discrepancy?

I'm not sure, but I think it's because Peter.R encodes his posts
with base64. Google Groups doesn't archive them, either, which is a
great pity. They show up fine if you use the MS news servers:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...e.mail.desktop
instead of motzarella or datemas. I use motzarella for alt groups,
but their retention is very short.

Good to hear, thank you. It's annoying when a known bug gets never fixed...
