Building system, need help!

A friend has built a computer with an Asus MB/P5K3 Deluxe motherboard,
two ATI graphics cards with Crossfire. The monitor is a Toshiba TV and
I'm not sure what the model is but it's a wide-screen. The operating
system is Vista Ultimate x64.

Here's one of the problems with the new system. On booting and without
regularity this message will display on the monitor, "not support". The
screen is blue and blank except for the "not support". After contacting
both Asus and ATI, neither taking responsibility for their own product,
my friend is at a loss as to what to do now.

I've possibly not related all the information needed to make a
determination but presently I don't know what else to add.

The "Not support" message is from the TV and indicates that the graphics
card is trying to run at a resolution or refresh rate the TV cannot accept.
The TV cuts off the display to avoid damage.

Try booting to Safe Mode - press F8 as the boot process starts - and set a
resolution and refresh rate the TV can support.

If Toshiba offers a Vista driver for the TV, download and install it.

I have an ASUS P5W DH Deluxe running Vista Ultimate 32 bit, with two ATI
1950 XTX Crossfire cards. Tipicaly I run with my Dell 26inch @ 1920x1200.
However, sometimes I plug my computer into my 56" JVC 1080P. When I do, I
just replace the video cable. I use a standard ATI pin output (DVI-I ) to
HDMI cable that I found either online or at CompUSA. No problems!
