Burnining Cd/Dvd's

I cut and paste music, or video, or data on to new Discs (cd-r) uaing Windows
Vista.
The Procedure appears to work, However whilst the 'burn' is retained in
memory,
the disc is blank.

I have attempted burning 6 times on a 2gig ram/320 gig memory with another
320 gig external.

Have also attempted on 1.25 gig laptop with 60 gig memory also using Vista
Ultimate

Have also used various versions of Nero. I did mange to burn One Music Cd,
It would play on the computer but not in home music player. Please HELP
