Sounds like a hardware issue.

Could be a driver issue as well. Get the lates Vista drivers from sony
for that model Vaio. If that fails you have a hardware issue.

i have sony vaio vgn-tx670p and have installed windows vista business,
please my av mode button, and eject cd/dvd not working.
