I own two laptop computers, an HP Pavillion 6000 running on Vista and a
Toshiba Satellite A10 runing on Windows XP sp2
Both occasionnally make a buzzing sound which is anoying and make me think
may be there's something wrong somewhere.
Does anybody know why this buzz happens?
Thanks for your help

Could be the hard drive. make sure ur laptop is placed on a hard surface to
regulate air flow and make sure it is not on its side or even tilted a
little bit. Could be one of the cooling fans starting go bad, have it looked
at and replace the fan. Find a local authorized repair facility and take it
to be repaired before you have a more serious problem.

Andre, Thank you for the info. However the computer is new and this buzzing
sound is very intermitent may once an hour.
The fan seems to be operating very smooth and the computer is on a hard
surface very stable..etc.
I will try to contact HP
Thanks for your help
By the way I will when I have a chance join your community on your site and
I will insert a picture and a profile.

Sounds like something is trying to access your floppy (A drive....(if you
have such a drive in your system - most seem not to these days)
