C-Media Updates and Older Gigabyte-Brand Boards

Heya Folks....

Do not use the "C-media C-Media AC97 Audio Device" update as provided on
Windows Update with some slightly more "mature" models of GigaByte
Motherboards.

I am noticing repeated (and unpredicatable) sound hardware failures as a
result of this update.

If necessary resolve the problem as follows:

(A) Roll Back the Driver
(B) Use the latest provided sound driver on the GigaByte web site
(C) Obtain the Realtek driver from the Realtek website

Agreed....I have an acer Aspire less that 12 months old and have had similar
problems...others I know have all experienced problems also. I recommend to
all...HIDE THE UPDATE AND DON'T INSTALL AT ALL.
