C4280 All-In-One - Not scanning USB NOT CONNECTED

I get the same old error everytime I try to make a scan.

I can make copies, print, but can not scan anything.

When I hit the scan button, I get "USB not connected" displayed on the
U.I

Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit - Pretty sure latest HP drivers (off
website)

Downloaded HP Error Utility, and I got the green light on everything.

This is a major error (check google!)

PLease help

What do HP say about the error?

While the drivers may be up to date make sure you also have the updates
installed - there are several critical updates to address communication
issues, including two in the last few weeks. Download the updates from
there:
