I failed to find an answer to my question, which is:- can I use a cable
connection between two computers to operate Sync Center?

I don't know about Sync Center but if you want to link PC to PC directly
you would need a Cat5 crossover cable. A better solution might be to buy
a cheap router with a couple of standard cables, then you should avoid
any unforeseen glitches, a switch might also work for you but I am
thinking for future use a router has more possibilities.
