cable modem, network not working after installing sp2

having rebuilt computer and got it running perfectly with internet email and
small home network and installed all updates up to sp2. after installing sp2
it knocked out my modem and access to internet and home network - i noticed
that in hardware device both packet scheduler and mini port bridge wer'nt
functioning any ideas?
