My Windows Vista Home calendar stopped working. I went to Task Manager and
restarted the programme, but now all my appointments, reminders, etc have
disappeared. Can I recover them?
Thanks

Hi,

It depends on what erased them. You might try a System Restore to yesterday.

Thanks for the suggestion - but I've just tried System Restore twice (with
different restore points) and each time it said an unexpected error occured,
so System Restore did not complete successfully! Any suggestions on that one?
Thanks

Hi,

You might try this:
http://bertk.mvps.org/html/eerrormsgsv.html

Or if you have Norton's installed, this:
http://bertk.mvps.org/html/symantecdoc1.html

Thanks Rick,
It's turning into a bit of a saga. I turned off the autoprotect which did
allow me to run the system restore, so it's good to know how I can do that if
necessary in the future. However, then something went wrong and I couldn't
turn autoprotect on again, so had to uninstall Norton then reinstall it.
Still, it's working OK now.

Unfortunately the System Restore didn't bring back my calendar appointments,
etc. What's also peculiar (to me, anyway) is that my pc does an automatic
daily backup, but when I tried to retrieve the calendar the latest version is
could offer was July 18. Obviously that's better than nothing as it only has
the last month's entries missing, but if you have any other suggestions about
how to get the whole thing back I'd be pleased to hear them.
Many thanks
Vivienne

Hi,

Other than checking for shadow copies (right click the file, choose
properties and check the version tab), no, I don't have any further
recommendations.
