I received an answer from WLM Technical Support that indicates at least one of their personnel - Janet B. - is not familiar with the product's features which includes changing a Calendar's color by clicking the downward pointing arrow to the left of the name of any specific Calendar, selecting properties, and changing the color. Here is what I wrote, and Janet B.'s response is below that: ******************** The problem I am having is that it takes two tries to save a calendar's color. I have several calendars. When I change and save the color of a Calendar, the events flash the new color for a split second and revert to the previous color. The color of the calendar in the calendar list (in the menu) also reverts. When I go back to the Calendar properties the previous color is checked (as it was before I made the change). I then check and save the color a second time and the color of the events and the color of the box in front of the Calendar in the menu changes. I go back in to the properties and see that the change I wanted is in place. I am using my Live ID to log in when starting WLM. Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Build 7100 (RC1) WLM Build 14.0.8089.0726 *************************** Technical Support Response: Thank you for writing to Windows Live Mail Technical Support. My name is Janet and I have read that you want to change color of your calendar. I understand how important it is for you to have your issue addressed. Currently, there is no way to change the calendar color in Windows Live Mail. It is set through Windows Live Calendar page. Your feedback is of great help in our drive to continually improve our products and services. If you have any additional suggestions for new features that you would like to add to Windows Live Calendar, please submit your feedback at: https://feedback.live.com/default.as...alendar&scrx=1 We appreciate your continued support as we strive to provide you with the highest quality service available. Correction: The color of calendars can be changed by hovering the pointer
above the name of the calendar and clicking the downward pointing arrow that appears to the right (not left) of the calendar name. Fyi...
It depends what one asks.. The Calendar color doesn't really change. The color of the checkmark to select a calendar(web and WLM), the label for the calendar(Web Only), and the color of an event(web and WLM) do change. -- ...winston ms-mvp mail "EJ" <> wrote in message news:... > Correction: The color of calendars can be changed by hovering the pointer above the name of the calendar and clicking the > downward pointing arrow that appears to the right (not left) of the calendar name. > > "EJ" <> wrote in message news:2E205764-A8D6-4BB6-A944-... >> I received an answer from WLM Technical Support that indicates at least one of their personnel - Janet B. - is not familiar with >> the product's features which includes changing a Calendar's color by clicking the downward pointing arrow to the left of the >> name of any specific Calendar, selecting properties, and changing the color. >> >> Here is what I wrote, and Janet B.'s response is below that: >> >> ******************** >> The problem I am having is that it takes two tries to save a calendar's color. >> >> I have several calendars. I understand, but that is because I attempt to understand. Anyone with a
like mind and a knowledge of the product, like yourself, or someone who would take the time to replicate the process, would have deduced that I was describing an attempt to change the color of the label and events, and not the color of the calendar itself. Yes, but others read these threads and removing any vagueness surround an issue can be helpful to others(who may not be as
deductive as another <g>). My comment was addressing your input to the support person e.g. 'When I change and save the color of a ***calendar***' 'The *color of the calendar* in the calendar list It's clear that WLM support read the above as written and pretty much ignored the rest or was ignorant of the WLM application or didn't even attempt to duplicate your 'set 2x to achieve desired results' or failed to duplicate your '2X' issue. The only plausible explanation if you still have this 2X problem is that something is failing to call a dll, a corrupted dll in WLM, a permission problem, etc(afiak, the color chooser in the calendar is hard coded i.e no registry setting is toggled). Fyi...I can't duplicate the '2x' necessity either on WLM installed on XP, Vista, or Win7. For me(in WLM) accessing the Calendar's properties and choosing a different color immediately changes the icon checkmark and the events on the calendar. A change is retained until modified otherwise. - if the Live Team can't duplicate(or didn't attempt) then its unlikely that resources will be assigned to any extent for further investigation(thus feedback would be noted, but written off as can't duplicate) - none of the above does not disclaim your 2x problem...though it may be the first report I've seen on the issue in the last 3+ yrs. Whether or not a repair of WLM will resolve your issue is unknown, especially since there is a possibility that the color switch is graphic card/driver or Windows GUI related. I hope you find the cause or it disappears...Good luck. -- ...winston ms-mvp mail "EJ" <> wrote in message news:C2712AC9-31AE-4F44-B391-... > I understand, but that is because I attempt to understand.
