Calendar Reminders

They don't work if Calendar isn't open, why?

....and yes I have the 'Reminders should show when Windows Calendar is
not running' box checked.

Any ideas?

I use the calendar in Outlook 2007 instead (I don't even use Vista), so I am
not sure, but out of interest, does the Vista Calendar make entries in Task
Scheduler to work, when not running? Maybe you should check there, as I can
not think of any other way it could remind you of anything when not running.
