Calendar showing deleted birthdays

Many months ago I changed the first names of two of my contacts...like Jack
to John. Recently noticed that clendar is showing birthdays for both Jack
and John even though Jack no longer exisits. Have tried several things.
Deleted John and waited several days. John's birthday disappeared but not
Jack's. Tried adding Jack back then his birthday shows twice...Once for the
real Jack and one for the one that was changed to John months ago then
deleted.
It seems the calendar is reaching back to a very old sync and refusing to
delete the info.
Any ideas?

Did you try deleting Jack from the calendar at live.com?

Was the calendar associated with a Live ID ?
- I.e. you signed on to Windows Live with a Live ID when WLM is opened(manually or automatically)

If yes, close WLM and delete the local calendar database in your %user profile%
....\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\Calendars\<LiveID>

Logon at people.live.com
Ensure that only one entry exists for that specific contact in the online database
- edit accordingly
Verify the data is correct in the online calendar (calendar.live.com)
Open WLM, sign on with that Live ID
Perform a full sync( Control F5)

Click on Calendar and report the results.

Fyi...If the contact is also a Live ID, the birth date information data may be controlled by their online data(profile/account)

Thanks Winston. Thes Delete worked fine. All birthdays have disappeared
from both WLM Desktop and Windows Live Online calendars. I presume birthdays
will come back in few days when Contacts sync with Calendar. Is this correct?

Did you remove the birthday calendar in the web interface ?
If so, add it again in the web UI(calendar.live.com)
<qp>
Notes
You can hide or delete the birthday calendar, but you can't share it. The calendar appears in the left pane, under Calendars, and
the events are displayed in the calendar grid, just as with other calendars.
If you deleted the birthday calendar and want to view it again, on the toolbar, click New, and then click Birthday calendar
</qp>

As long as your Live ID contacts have birth dates entered(either from the contact sharing their Live ID data or manually entered by
you), the birth dates should appear after after a calendar sync(Control F5 will perform a sync in WLM).
