Logging on to calendar.live.com, deleting the original calendar and
creating a replacement is unlikely to have any effect unless data on the
original calendar was corrupt and that data is not accessible in the web UI
(not WLM).
Delete the local Live ID database.
Windows Explorer -> Tools/Folder Options/View:
- Ensure Show hidden fles and folders is enabled and Hide protected
operating system files is disabled
Close WLM
Navigate in Windows Explorer to
C:\Documents and Settings\<windows logon name>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\Calendars
Delete
a. DBStore
(the local offline no Live ID calendar database)
b. All Live ID folders
(they will show up with the Live ID email address)
Shutdown > Restart > Open WLM and logon with your Live ID (the same Live ID
you used to access the web UI when you removed the original and created a
replacement calendar)
If deletion of the local Live ID calendar database does not rectify the
problem, consider contacting Live Support
- fyi - support for the Live ID calendar is in the Hotmail forum
http://windowslivehelp.com/forums.aspx?productid=1
Optionally you might also post in the WL Mail area regarding
synchronization problems.
If unresolvable by the Solution Center personnel, you may have to live with
the problem.
Good luck.

Thank you for the reply.
"What does manually terminate the sync process mean"
Means to click the bottom-right of WLM window to open the status window
with
task and error list and a progress bar of receiving/send/sync.
It will show that the last task, i.e. calendar sync, just hangs there
forever. Now click "Stop"...
Probably it's not the problem of WLM, but due to some code change of live
calendar service, since the problem did not exist years ago.
Not AV or firewall issue either I think, since the sync does not hang every
time. But once it happens, it last forever until I click the stop button.
It's a pity that there's no way to switch off the live calendar sync
function without logging off the liveID...
Now I have created an empty new calendar in the live calendar service as my
main calendar, and deleted the old one.
I'll see what will happen in the next days.
