Call a Contact not working

Hi there
When I push the call a contact button my end rings but my contacts
doesn't and vica versa.

I tried the cmd fix as suggested by Shawn to no avail.

The strange thing is, that when i make a video call it goes through
just fine... what the???

The I get this
Messenger is not available right now. Please try again later.
(0x80ef01f4)

Anyone able to assist cause it worked on xp

I've been experiencing the same issue on and off for a couple of weeks now.
I used to be able to rely on messenger for regular communication with my son
in Japan. Now, most of the time, I get the message, "Messenger is not
available right now. Please try again later. (0x80ef01f4)."

It really makes communication difficult. I sent an email to Microsoft about
3 weeks ago and I think it just goes to the 'bit-bucket' since I haven't
heard anything from them.
