Can ActiveSync lockout a user?

I have a user today getting locked out every 15-30 minutes. The security
log on our mailserver shows that user trying with bad username/pw then it
locks out. I checked the source IP and it is Sprint, this user has sprint
with Active Sync.
I cant reach the user yet, but Im curoius if a bad/changed PW would do
this?

If you have password lockout policies set in the GPO, then yes, the user can
be locked out with multiple failed login attempts. Check you password
policy for lockout policy and duration. This should lead you to the answer
to your question.
