how can I allow program to start without getting user account cont

I have a program I use and it causes user account control to pop up and
requires me to click the allow to run button. I want to keep user account
control on and have this program launch without getting unidentified program
window pop up when I click its shortcut

The best way, however, is for the program to be properly updated to run
under Vista.
