Hello,
First, DO NOT turn on your laptop. If the HD is indeed damaged, then
powering on your laptop might do more damage. If you have really critically
important data on there, then you might want to try calling a data recovery
service (search Google) and see what they can do and how much they charge.
If the data is not that important, then you can try to take it to a local PC
service place to see what they can do. Hopefully you made backups, though,
right??? =]
Regards,
Martin

I installed Windows Vista Home Premium yesterday. An about two hours later
it
started to get slower and then my hard drive started to make a twanging
sound. It is a laptop and I admit I have dropped it once! That was before I
installed Vista and was running XP and never had this problem with XP, may
be
because XP had done defrag and wasnt accsesing those sectors and Vista is,
or
has Vista corrupted my HDD? Help!!!
