Recently, all my files icons have a small blue box with >> inside it
attached to them. Can anyone explain what program is causing this and what
do they mean? Unfortunately , I can not cut and paste a sample in here.
Thanks

It's something to do with Norton software.

Do you have Norton 360 Anti-Virus installed?

The blue boxes with the two white chevrons are indicators to show the backup
status of folders and files if you have this product installed.

They turn green once they have been backed up successfully.

If you turn off the automatic backup option in Norton the blue boxes will
disappear.

Thank You. Your right it's from Nortons 360. Interestingly, I do have backup
turned off but didn't know where the icons came from. I was able to look up
the help file and figure out how to turn them off. Thanks again.
