Can I browse .MIG files?

Does anyone know of a way I can open an MIG file that was created with the
Easy Transfer wizard so I can see what files are in it, without having to
actually copy them all to my machine? I'm looking for a particular file.
My MIG file is 16GB in size. The instructions for the Easy Transfer wizard
suggests that I should be able to see the files contained in the MIG file
during the restore process, but all I see is a list of folders that I can
review; no files. The instructions say I can click the "Customize" button
to choose what files and/or setting I want to restore, but there is no
"Customize" button; only a "Transfer" button. As soon as I click the
"Transfer" button, the transfer starts and I abort it. I never get a chance
to browse a list of files. Is it possible that if I let the transfer
continue I will see such a browse list before anything actually gets
transfered? The instructions also say I should click the "Start" button to
start the transfer, but, again, all I have is a "Transfer" button; there's
no buttons labeled "Start" or "Customize."

Hi Sixsigmaguy,

You could take a look at this thread. I haven't had the problem myself,
so can't vouch for any of the advice given there:

Hope it helps
