How can I change default account ?

I recently installed Live Mail and signed up for a Live account which gave me
a brand new e mail address.
I also added in my other e mail accounts - G Mail and POP3.

I need to make one of those accounts my default "from" acount since none of
my contacts know my new Live e mail address.

Please tell me how I can change the default account from Live to my
preffered POP3 account.

You have tried Tools-Accounts, highlighting the account you want to use and
clicking on "set as default"?

Do you have the new account under Tools, Accounts?
Where did you go the get the new address?
You can't create a new address in WLMail.

WLMail does not use a default account when sending mail. A compose message
will use the account of the folder that you are currently viewing.

I am looking at Live Mail right now and the bar across the top does not
have "tools". It has basic e mail options such as new, reply all, forward,
etc ...

When I downloaded and installed Live Mail I was asked to create an account
which I did ******@live.com and then I proceeded to add my other accounts.

In the lefthand pane, next to the word Live is my new live e mail name.
When I hover over that is reads (default). My other e mail inboxes are lower
in that list after deleted items.

So I am to understand I need to select one of the addresses as if I am
reading the messages associated with them and click new w2hen I want to send
a message from that account?

Alt+T will show the Menu Bar, alternatively, you can select "Show Menu Bar"
using the little icon next to the ? icon on the far right . . . . then you
will see Tools

That is Tool Bar you were looking at, not Menu Bar.
Your Menu Bar must be " hidden ".
At the top, the Tool Bar, look to the right hand side. Do you see a set of 3
icons, one looks like a brush, one look like a question mark ( ? ), and one
in between ?
Click that one in between > un-check Hide Menu Bar.
Now, do you see Tools ?

Alt + M, M will toggle the Menu bar off or on.

Your other accounts would be below the live account deleted items.
You can collapse accounts, so that just the account name shows.

With more than one account when you click New message, there will be a From
field.
With OE or WM, the default account will be in the From field.
With WLMail, the account in the From field can show accounts. You can click
on the From field and change the sending account.

Hi, Annmarie.

Some users don't like having that Menu Bar taking up screen real estate, so
the WLM Team decided to hide it by default. To see it momentarily, just
press <Alt>. To toggle it on/off, press <Alt>+M, M - or click on that icon
between the paintbrush and the question mark and choose from the context
menu.

I found the answer in the MS Forum at dslreports.com
By hitting ALT a toolbar comes up and there I found the option
tools>accounts and I simply imported my Vista Mail .iaf backups and all is
well now.
Is there a way to keep that toolbar visible? I had no idea ALT brings it up.

For the fifth time . . . . .

That "bar" is the "Menu Bar" . . . . . at the right of the screen you will
see 3 icons (one is a ? mark) - the one in the middle - click it and select
"Show Menu Bar" - then it will stay put.

(4 people told you within an hour of your first post to hit ALT, and how to
make it stay open permanently - I hope you weren't "researching" with
dslreports.com all night long !! )
