How can i change my signal type on my media center

-- I use a hp tv tuner for my laptop. when i first bought it about a month
ago it let me pick what type of signal i could use. Now it will not allow me
to change what type of signal. it only wants to use digtal antenna signals
and not stanard cable signal
help
