When I finish downloading and installing update files from microsoft website,
there are many folders appear in directory C:\Windows as below
$NtUninstallKB873339$, $NtUninstallKB885250$, $NtUninstallKB912919$,
$NtUninstallKB912919$, etc. They eat too much place in my hard drive and it
slows down my computer speed. Can i delete all of these folders but no bad
effect to the stability of the system? And can you tell me exactly what I
should do?
Thanks

Hi Intellhu2212,

If you are confident that you won't be wanting to uninstall the updates,
then yes, you can safely delete the folders.

If you also would like to remove the lines in Add/Remove Programs that
relate to each of the updates for which you have deleted the $NTUninstall
folder, select the reference to the item and then click on the Remove button.
XP will then attempt to locate the uninstall file and, when the file cannot
be found, it will return an "error" message and ask you if you wish to remove
the entry from Add/Remove Programs.

Regards,

The update uninstall files can be safely deleted:

Those files should not cause the computer to slow down, this link may help:
