Can I delete %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution folder to save spac

I have an already crowded original smaller hard drive, C

Can I safely delete this folder or move it to my larger, newer, hard drive F ?

It contains about 166 MB of files in it?

No, but you can safely delete the Download folder in it:

Thanks Jupiter Jones. The Download folder is by far the one folder inside
SoftwareDistribution folder taking up the most storage space.

I visited the link you provided. Can you tell me a little bit more about
the files in that folder? It seems it has something to do with the service
pack files. Does Windows File Protection on occasion access these files, as
well?
