Can I delete these files?

I am running very low on hard disk space on my hard drive, and as of the
moment, I can't delete the files I have. I see that under the \Windows\
folder, are are a lot of hidden, compressed $NtUninstall folders. Are they
the uninstallation information for the updates?

And since they take up a lot of space, can I just burn them all unto a CD
and delete them off the Windows folder? Later, if I decide to remove an
update, I'll just restore all the $NtUninstall folders onto the Windows
folder. Would that be okay? Or Windows depend on them everytime you boot up.

Thanks. I'm desperate to reclaim disk space right now. I'll have to find a
better solution in the long run.

I just move them to another folder for a month or so.
