Sorry, I have no idea about how Quicktime might work with-in Windows 7. The
instructions I gave you work with Windows XP. You might ask your question
in a Windows 7 specific newsgroup, or Quicktime newsgroup.
Why do you think you need the Quicktime Player installed on Windows 7?
From what I've read about Windows 7 it now contains native support for the
..mov file type:

Given that Windows Media Player now supports .mov files I don't see any
reason to install the Quicktime Player on Windows 7.
