how can I get the machine

back to somthing resembling SP1. I don't want XP
downloading ANY UPDATES, I have the Bits service disabled,
and auto update disabled as well. The sand-box machine I
updated to SP2 now won't allow the use of the update site
without auto-update service and the bits service running,
even when I manually go to the site to update...not to
mention the install package altered several service
definitions without ANY OVERT MESSAGE. I have numerous
apps that used to run fine, under SP1 that now die various
deaths, and its gonna take a couple of weeks to debug a
fix...All this fuss because MS won't admit to a
coding/design flaw when they co-mingled the local and
remote file/device handles/calls
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
