can i get sp2 without first having sp1?

hello
sp1 never installed properly when i tried to update. it
seemed to finish the process, but i cant restart. so ive
reinstalled windows xp a few times after many attempts.
i am wondering if my pc doesnt like sp1, would it be safe
to try to install sp2? i really am quite sick of
reinstalling everything

SP2 does not need to have SP1 installed... So you can go right ahead and
install SP2. If you have any problems with it, please don't hesitate to
contact me and i'll try and resolve whatever is going on...
