Hi,
Sorry, if this is too simple question, but I would like to know how can I
have 2 different WLM on one PC. What I want to achieve here is, I want to be
able get a pop up notification (the icon on the right below on the pc screen,
call system tray?) for my Incoming Hotmail Emails. Right now, I only be able
to get the pop up notice for incoming emails on my primary email account, and
not on my secondary email account. I suppose I need 2 separate WLM for this ?
OR is there any way I can get a pop up notice for both email account with one
WLM ? if so, could you tell me how to set it to work that way? Thank you!

Greetings Meg,

Yes, you'll have to run Messenger twice for this to happen. By default this isn't possible,
but there are several solutions to make this happen.

To do so, just download and run the following .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/dow...eInstances.reg

After this is imported, you do not need to restart Messenger, just click on a Live Messenger
shortcut to open up another session and log into your other Live ID.

You need to run Messenger twice -- once to sign into one account, and again to sign into the
other.

> Q2)Imported? whay does it mean ?

Just download and run it - it will ask you to import it, you just choose Yes.

> Q3)What do you mena by "another session" ?

Again, as you're two instances of Messenger, in the first client you sign in will be the
first session, and the second account you sign in will be the second session.

> Q4)Also, so I can't have 2 different WLM on one pc by default, right ?

By default no, if you start Messenger twice without making the above change, it will simply
bring up the already running Messenger. You need to make the change so that it will run
multiple times and allow you to sign in to more than one account at once.

As both accounts will be signed in, you'll be getting notifications (like the mail ones) from
both accounts.

Hi Jonathan,
I know I wrote you "I'll try it ." but,
I got scared and have not tried it yet.
The reason is, I am not good at anything to do with PC and
I'm afraid if something goes wrong, (by my mistake that is)
I don't know how to reverse back to normal or default.
I wish someone who are more confident can set it for me,
But that is not realistic in this case.
Also, I am not native speaker and am afriad
I may misunderstand what you have told me here.
I will post the result IF I manage to do this myself. but for now
Suddenly, I am sacred and not sure if I can do it. I'm sorry for this.

Hi Meg,

Well it's up to you, but you can't really "break" anything here, and it's totally reversible.

Given you can post here, I think you can handle it

Hi Jonathan,
Sorry for the delay of my reply.
Thank you for your kind words. You mentioned that it si "reversible".
If it's ok with you, do you mind telling me how can I reverse it, if I want
to?
I think I feel more comfortable knowing how to do it before I try to run the
file
you had shown me.
