Tulsa, with all respect, you didn't even try what he asked...He didn't tell
you to go back to your control panel and select stereo speakers (which you
had already indicated hadn't made a difference). If you re-read his
suggestion, you'll see he's talking about something completely different.
What he's indicating is that WMP might be outputting to the incorrect audio
device. That is, it might be set to do digital SPDIF output and not analog
output to your speakers.
Your response shows that you were still thinking of the control panel
settings. If you're gonna ask people for help, at least read their responses
carefully
