Can I list other email clients ie pop3 in messenger live?

I use Outlook. Can I export all my contacts to Messenger Live or will it
accept only IM contacts? I want to have all my contacts listed both places.

How do I export from Outlook--or do I have to have a paid hotmail account to
do this?
