Can I live without SP2

Hi,
Our xp was running fine until I installed SP2. Now it has developed
problems. I admit that I was very lazy and just downloaded and installed SP2
without adequate preperation (defrags/scans/anti-vrus checks etc)
Can I completely uninstall SP2 and try and make a better job of it? Or even
live without it? I tried system restore but SP2 remained? Did my automatic
update program possibly put it on earlier?
Or is the price of my sloth to be a lifetime of niggling error messages?
Any suggestions welcomed.
Thanks,ph

You can indeed live without Service Pack 2. In fact, it is not now, nor has
it ever been required. You can remove it by going to Add/Remove Programs.
There are specific measures that should be taken, as you note, before
downloading and installing SP2. There are instructions on the Windows
Update website that are very helpful should you decide to try to install SP2
again. If you uninstall it, that should clear things up on your system.

Hi Kevin,
Many thanks for your advice. I will, indeed, unistall SP2 and then I will
consider whether or not I need/require/desire it.
Thanks again.
Best wishes, ph
