For several weeks now, I cannot obtain updates for XP pro on on of my
machines because the update says that I need to "register" some files. It
does this then checks for "the latest windows update software" then tells me
that I need register the files again. I'm in a loop here with no way to
register or update the software.
this happened around the same time that I know that I had to verify or
something and download a new version of windows update on other systems. But
this system would not do this correctly apparently. I registered several
files "by hand" using the run command per the instructions that windows
update sent me to, but still no luck.
Anyone have any ideas???
