Can no longer play music after update

I am unable to play any music after I updated my windows the day before
yesterday. There were a few updates for XP and they were critical so I
intalled them. However, now I cannot play anything, not even a CD that I put
into my CD rom that worked before. Media player doesn't work, Itunes doesn't
work, quicktime doesn't work. What the heck happened? I keep getting an
error stating the link is lost!

Could someone please help me fix this?? Is there anyone else who has had
this problem?

Delete the updates and see if it works. Then install them one at a time
reboot after each update and see which one is causing the issue, delete the
one causing the problem and install the rest. I always install one at a time
and see if it causes any problems before going to the next one. If all else
failes use the system restore back to a time before your problem started.
Hope this helps. Post back and let us know.

I was able to fix it. I went under the control panel and accessed my device
manager. I noticed there was a yellow esclamation mark under one of my sound
drivers. I tried uninstalling that driver, restarting windows so it would
recognize it as a new driver and that did not work. I then chose the option
of rolbacking the last driver update and it worked! I got sound now!

That last microsoft windows update messed it up, thankfully I got it back.
