I found a support article from Microsoft about failed SP1
installations. Give it a look and see if there's anything in there that
will assist you, here's the link: 'Error message when you try to install
Windows Vista Service Pack 1: \"Installation was not successful\" or
\"An internal error occurred while installing the service pack\"'
