can not go on update.microsoft.com

when ever i try to go on to update.microsoft.com it says the page does not
exist basicly. i tried this on my other PC and it works fine how do i fix
this problem

Please state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista x64 SP2) when
posting to this newsgroup and always post the complete (verbatim) error
message.

Error message when you try to install updates from the Windows Update Web
site on a Windows XP-based computer: "Windows Update has encountered an
error and cannot display the requested page":

i have XP sp3
it is the 'cannot find server' page i have done the 'diagnose connection
problems...'
there is no error message

You've gotta read everything in my replies, not just the first paragraph.

KB914226 list multiple Resolutions. "Diagnose connection problems..." is
not one of them.

Use ping -n 1 update.microsoft.com (in a cmd window)
to see what address you are getting for that.
