Can not install ANY updates

Update do not work automatically, and when i go to do it manually (express
and custom) tons are found but when i try to DL and install i get " Updates
failed to install" ....." Installation Failure

Error Code: 0x80246008
Try to install the update again, or request help from one of the following
resources

i installed the new 3.1 v2 installer but i cant get any of these to work.
anyone ahve any ideas?

Hi,

Take a look at this article : http://babs.its.yale.edu/yalead/sp2notes.asp.
It is treating about an issue with SP2 and windows update. There is a little
file that is supposed to fix the issue. Hope this helps.

I am having the same issue. Unable toi install updates. I tried your
suggestions, and only the BITS was not set properly. I set the BITS, and
restarted the computer, only to find it returned to Manual. I reset it, and
tried to update. Still having the same problems. Unable to update Windows
XP. (Getting the following messages: "Updates were unable to be
successfully installed", "The following updates were not installed", "Updates
for Windows XP (KB898461) and Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool
(KB8921340)"

It appears I haven't had updates load properly since around June/July, about
the time I installed Windows Office Suite Professional on my Home PC. (I
work for a Microsoft Partner, and purchased this package because of this
status.)

Any other suggestions?

I hope someone has an answer. I have tried everything suggested and
nothing works.
