can not log into itunes store

My xp laptop died so I have a new Vista laptop. After some trial and error I
was able to get itunes to download but now when i launch it and try to log in
I immedietly get a network timeout error. I've tried the program repair on
itunes but still same issue.

Uninstall iTunes and reinstall it, but this time, right click the setup
executable and click 'Run as Administrator'.
