Hi!

I got a problem to login in with my Live Messenger. From the beginning I
tried to login from different computer but failed. Only one machine worked.

I read this answer http://www.mcse.ms/archive271-2005-9-1854080.html
I then changed my passport-password to a shorter one, and then it work on
one more computer. But it is still the same problem on my maincomputer. I
have registered all the .dll -files and I have uninstalled and reinstalled
the new Live Messenger. It works for several computer behind the same ISP and
firewall. But it is still not solved; I can’t get in from this computer. And
the errorcode is 81000395.

Please help
//Linda

Greetings,

You can also try this.

Go to Start, run, then type "regedit"

Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\microsoft\MSNMessenger\ Policies

Delete the key "contacts.msn.com"

Then, try launching Windows Live Messenger again.

I had this same error, and your trick worked. I can now connect, but now my
user name is some strange e**ql (* are actually squares). My user name is
lost. How can I fix this?

Greetings,

In order to fix this, I would try uninstalling and reinstalling Windows Live
Messenger.

Please tell me if this works for you. Thanks.
