when I try to access my windows update I get the error number 0x8DDD0018, and everytime that I try to access it, I get the same error. I've tried the troubleshooting it provides, I've even tried e-mail my problem in, and I did what it said to, but it still won't let me open it.

I had same prob do to installing programs and removeing them caused the prob
heres the fix and it works .

You know the drill. You get on windowsupdates.microsoft.com and it says that
it is now checking for available updates. Thing is, it doesn't come back and
tell you what the available updates are. It just sits there like a big dummy.
I have browsed this newsgroup for answers and it appears that one must run
the Regsvr32.exe command for 4 different .dll files to fix this problem. The
5 .dll's being: wuapi.dll wups.dll wuaueng.dll wucltui.dll

That's the ONE. Thanks a lot for the tip! Must be mentioned in the MS error
message--all the services appeared as as runnning but the DLL's had to be
registred as well.

Cheers
Alex
