If IE8(any version) is installed, removing IE8 should resolve your problem..
If IE8 is not installed, then please provide info on each item below

a. version of Windows Live Mail ?

b. Settings in Windows Live Mail(Tools/Options/Send/Upload Larger images...) ?

c. Using a Live ID to signon when Windows Live Mail opens ?

IE8 is removed via:

XP: Control Panel/Add-Remove

Vista: Control Panel/Programs and Features
If not present then follow this method
- To uninstall Internet Explorer 8, go to Control Panel, and click on Uninstall Programs link or Programs and Features icon. Then
on Tasks pane on the left, click on View installed updates link. Locate and select Windows Internet Explorer 8 in the list of
installed updates, and then click on Uninstall button. Click on Yes when asked that are you sure want to uninstall the update

Once IE8 is uninstalled the prior version in use on that same machine will be available.

hello first off i have to say how great you are in responding to my problems
so quickly. thankyou so much you have really been helping with my fustrations
and stress regarding this matter. I finally feel like I am getting somewhere.
In responce to my problem I could not remove ie8 that way ,option was not
there, however i found out how to do it by running cmd.exe and pasting a link
that was provided in microsoft help. It did remove ie 8 but i still can not
send photo email or mail. It goes to my out box and every time log on I get a
message saying " error". it does not give me details in my error sec. so i
look in tasks and it says could not send mail. I do have all the correct
settings in tool, i believe, like upload larger images. When I installed live
mail I did not change any settings except i added a stationary background
"garden" to my outgoing messages and changed script to sergio script. Is
there anything else you can suggest. Also i subscribe to automic updates and
when i got rid of ie8 windows update download updates for windows live mail.

Please be sure you have Windows Live Mail checked as your default email
program in Add/Remove Program. I had the same problem you're having,
because I had failed to do this, and Outlook Express was still checked as my
default email program. After making this one, simple change, photos
attached properly in my outgoing email messages.

Afaik..No updates have been deployed via Windows Updates for Windows Live Mail.
Check your installed updates and report which update was installed.

Is Windows Live Mail your default email client ? Tools/Options/General tab

You need to be a bit more clear on whether or not your settings are proper(sorry 'I believe' is not absolute)..please check again
and also do answer if you are using a Live ID(Hotmail, Msn, Live.com) for the email account sending the photo mail.

Can you send mail without photos in plain text ?

Have you tried sending mail without including stationary ?

Eh? Outlook Express? You must be running Windows XP? You will need
administrative privileges to reset MS Outlook Express as the default email
handler. And an extra step to re-register MSOE to handle .eml and .nws
files.

I don't have my Windows XP computer handy to check where (stupid power
supply croaked), but usually available in the "Start" menu.

You need to reset OE as your default mail program.

OLEXP: "Send To" and E-mail Links Do Not Work with Outlook Express
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306098

Also, in Windows XP: Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Set Program
Access and Defaults, Custom, Email and select Outlook Express.
