can not sign into windows live messenger

As of this morning i have not been able to sign in. I get no error messege it
just goes and goes and goes trying to sign in. My sister is able to sign in
under her name on her account. I use the messenger under the admin account.
Why can't i sign in? I changed my password did everything i was told to
do..even downloaded the very latest version..still not working. Can anyone
help me?

Greetings,

Please open up notepad, paste the following line in, and save the file as
msn.reg


[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger]

Once that is done, double click the msn.reg file.

Then, open up Windows Live Messenger again.

I have the same problem as well. Tried reinstalling, full uninstallation and
then reinstalling to no avail. I downgraded to MSN 7.5 and it worked
perfectly fine.

In order to downgrade, you will need to go to your control panel, then to
add remove programs, then click on Windows Live Messenger, and select change
remove.

Once that is done, you will have to download MSN Messenger 7.5 from the
following link, and install:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

You can also try this.

Go to Start, run, then type "regedit"

Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\microsoft\MSNMessenger\ Policies

Delete the key "contacts.msn.com"

Then, try launching Windows Live Messenger again.

Didn't work but thank's anyway. What is the deal i was able to log in with my
name and password when i switched to my sisters user account, but it refuses
to do so when i am logged into the admin account.

yea!!! This procedure worked for me. I had already tried deleting and
reninstalling twice and questioned our IT department. This actually worked.
