Can not update caused by unabled to start BITS

When I try to update. I get the error message 80246008, which means that BITS
can not start.
When I try to start BITS with "services.msc" I get the error message 80070005.
What does this error message means?

I have also added BITS in
REGEDIT-HKEY_LOCAL_MASHINE\SOFTWARE....\SvcHost\netsvcs.

I have tried this with both SP1 and SP2 but there is no difference.

Please help before I go crazy.

0x80070005 ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED
The authentication method is not supported. -

(0x80070005) in this condition
Try: could help :

in services.msc locate the bits service
look in log on tab, check local system,and make sure the harware pofile is
enable in the lower space. ( try to make service manual)

make sure that you have the permission are set for folders, files:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\bits
