Hi, I'm having an insane amount of trouble trying to update my computer. I'm
running Vista Home Premium on an AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3700+, 1 gig of ram.
My machine initially showed signs of sputtering when trying to update
itunes, which I was unable to do due to "unable to authenticate certificate"
issues. I tried and tried, and even uninstalled itunes with the intention of
doing a fresh reintall, but this failed too. Eventually, I tried to do a
fresh reintall of Vista itself (Windows validation successful, BTW), but
after doing this, have been unable to successfully update. The updates seem
to download, but every time I try to install, I get the 80096010 error. I'm
assuming being unable to update is contributing to a host of other problems,
such as being unable to install any other program on my machine (itunes,
sound card driver, Norton, etc.) due to some variation of invalid
certificates or unable to determine authenticity. Any advice that anyone
could give to help fix this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

some but not all Windows updates. I am running Win Vista Home Premiu
32 bit version on a AMD Turion 64x2 TL 1.9 GHZ CPU with 2 Gig memory an
am logged on as the administrator.

Anyone out there have any ideas
