Remove the kb893066 through add/remove programs in your control panel. I had
the same problem here with replying to email. There is something wrong with
this hotfix, I wasn't able to figure out what but it wasn't really worth my
time for the 'security' improvements it claims to provide. Choose to 'hide'
this hotfix on windows update website until they figure out what's wrong with
it.
Are you behind a VPN? That is something I suspect this hotfix has trouble
negotiating.
