Ok. Until about 3 days ago everything was working fine. Now I'm getting the
following message:

Subject 'Re: September 4th Letter', Account: 'CDF Cheer', Server:
'smtp.gmail.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 465, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number:
0x800CCC19

My pop is pop.gmail.com
my smtp is smtp.gmail.com

my ports are 465 and 995

I do not have any virus protection software running.
I have tried it with the authentication box checked and without it.

Any suggestions?

Hi Ashley,

It sounds like you may have a stuck message in your Outbox. If you dom
then install the KB941090 Update from Microsoft. Just choose the 32 bit
or 64 bit for you Vista version.

'Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a
computer that is running Windows Vista'

Your account settings look correct, but it would not hurt to double
check them.

'Gmail: Help Center - Outlook Express'

Enable POP instructions for your Gmail account.

Try deleting your existing mail account in Windows Mail, restart,
then recreate that account from scratch. Sometimes an account
can get corrupted for no obvious reason.

I'm assuming your Internet connection works such that you can
browse websites with Internet Explorer.

I would do what Gary suggested, and delete your account and create
new one with the settings from the links above for Gmail

Can you post a copy of the send error message?

The error message below was for receiving.

Here is the message:
Subject 'Hey Anna', Account: 'CDF Cheer', Server: 'smtp.gmail.com',
Protocol: SMTP, Port: 465, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC19

This comes after a message saying the message has timed out and asks if I
want to wait another 60 seconds.

Ok Ashley,

This is usually a antivirus program that causes this timeout error. You
say you do not have any antivirus program running, but do you have
anything installed? Read the "First" section at this link to see if may
apply here. Install the KB941090 Update from Microsoft to be safe. Do
you have any anti-spyware/adware program installed that has email
scanning as a feature?

Your SMTP settings are correct according to Gmail's instructions.
'Gmail: Help Center - Outlook Express'

Did you activate POP for your Gmail account? You can see how here if
not.

Gmail wants you to enable SSL.
Go to Tools, Accounts, select the account, Properties, Advanced,
make sure the (SSL) box is checked for both servers.
You can verify your settings with Gmail's directions here:
